WORLD YOUTH DAY

WYD, held annually each Palm Sunday in the dioceses of the world, holds international gatherings every 2 – 3 years with the Pope. The international gathering begins on a Tuesday and builds through the week to Sunday’s closing Mass, with the Pope presiding. In addition to being in another country, with its tourist charms and cultural experience; participation requires a prepared body for the pilgrimage and an open heart to the wonders that God has in store for each of us. There are many things to take in – catechesis, music, cathedrals & churches – all while meeting new people who share the same faith…beliefs and hope.

WYD Krakow, July 2016 – Our five pilgrims and two chaperones, had an amazing experience of faith with 2.5 million young people from around the world.

In 2013, our parish sent 24 pilgrims with 4 chaperones to attend WYD Rio 2013.
