Welcome to Family Faith Formation

Our ministry of Catechesis uses resources provided by Loyola Press; including God Made Everything and Finding God series for Levels 1 through 8.  God’s Gifts series and Confirmed in the Spirit are used for Sacrament preparation. We also have additional resources for preschoolers; families; and for older children & youth who would like to “catch up” on ”formal” catechesis. In addition to providing printed material; Loyola Press has comprehensive on-line support at www.loyolapress.com.

Youth Catechists

 For Levels 1 to 8:

  • Catechists teach in a classroom setting throughout the school year. They cover half of the book material in class; with families covering the rest of the material at home. Families are able to complete each lesson, by using the student books and on-line resources.

  • Class times as per the schedule:  Levels 1 to 6 on Sundays from 10am to 11am Levels 7 & 8 on Monday evenings beginning with the 7pm Mass & ends at 9pm.

  •  Family Home Program is available to those who wish to complete most or all chapters at home; joining “in class” gatherings when time permits.

  • Family Gatherings – children & parents gather with the Catechists to celebrate special seasons. These gatherings consist of an activity for the whole family and include snacks & refreshments.

The second year they fully engage in their chosen parish ministry; and attend two Retreats (Wind & Fire Retreat, and Spirit Day).

The printed resources are the student text Confirmed in the Spirit, and the Faith to Faith sponsor magazine. Also available is the Called to Be Catholic student book and Loyola Press on-line resources.
